Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 23, 2026
This policy explains what data stackwrite.com ("Stackwrite", "we") collects, why, and who we share it with. Stackwrite is operated by Hirak Banerjee under the trade name "BeatRootTech", based in Canada. Contact: hello@stackwrite.com.
1. What we collect
- Tool submissions — when you submit a tool, we collect the tool name, URL, category, your description, and your email address.
- Payments — if you buy a paid listing, payment is handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation and your email, but we never receive or store your full card details.
- Newsletter — if you subscribe, we store your email address to send you updates.
- Comments — comments are powered by Giscus (GitHub Discussions). If you comment, that data is handled by GitHub under GitHub's privacy policy.
- Technical data — like most sites, our host logs basic request data (IP address, browser, pages visited) for security and performance.
2. How we use it
- To review your submission and decide whether to publish it.
- To contact you about your submission, payment, or its outcome.
- To send transactional emails (payment confirmations, publication or refund notices).
- To send the newsletter, if you subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To operate, secure, and improve the site.
We do not sell your personal data.
3. Third-party processors
We use a small number of trusted services to run the site. Each processes data only as needed to provide its function:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Resend — sending transactional and newsletter emails.
- Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, and email routing.
- GitHub / Giscus — comments.
- Google Search Console — aggregate, anonymized search performance.
4. Cookies
We use minimal cookies — essential ones for the site to function, and any set by embedded services like the Giscus comment widget. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
5. Data retention
We keep submission and payment records as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal or accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your data (see below), subject to records we're required to keep.
6. Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and equivalent laws, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email hello@stackwrite.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
7. International transfers
Some of our processors (e.g. Stripe, Resend, Cloudflare, GitHub) operate servers outside Canada, including in the United States and the EU. By using the site, you understand your data may be processed in those locations under their respective safeguards.
8. Children
Stackwrite is not directed at children and is intended for a professional, adult audience. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date reflects the latest version.
